Kitty Queen of the Washhouse

“Nobody was ever poorer for what they gave a neighbour in distress”

A powerful story of an extraordinary woman. Told by her friendly ghost…

You may have heard of Kitty Wilkinson. But did you know how she came to be the only female statue in Liverpool’s St George’s Hall?

Kitty’s statue comes to life to transport you back to 1830s Liverpool. A captivating, one-woman show that tells an ‘‘against all odds’ story of how a working-class girl fought the cholera epidemic and became a community champion. The Saint of the Slums.

This intricate story, told with humour and kindness, brings Kitty’s life centre stage. Be immersed in Kitty’s world and celebrate a true female hero of the North.

Come on a journey and take a little bit of Kitty’s spirit back home to your community!
