Theatre Technician
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Theatre Technician to join Shakespeare North Playhouse’s Production and Technical department, supporting a bold creative programme inspired by Prescot’s historic connections to William Shakespeare and a real love of storytelling.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the post-holder will be a key operational member of the Production and Technical team, taking responsibility for operating equipment in technical areas within the theatre, performance, and event spaces to ensure the smooth running of Shakespeare North’s productions, workshops, and events. They will work on all technical aspects of the production, events and learning programmes as required and will at times act as duty technician, building duty manager and will need to work with and supervise casual, freelance and contractor staff as scheduled by The Head of Production or the Technical Manager. This is a varied role working in the Cockpit Theatre, a traditional 470 seat timber framed Shakespearean theatre, The Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden and The Studio as well as supporting events across the building.
