Cast
Colin Meredith as George
Colin has worked professionally since 1976 appearing in theatres from Stirling to Swansea. His extensive work on television and radio includes guest roles in Emmmerdale, Poirot, Hetty Wainthrop, Waterloo Road, Brookside, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell and Mount Pleasant. His most recent TV credit was playing Mr Beetham in Coronation Street marking his sixth character on the cobbles. He produced and acted in his own professional pantomimes in Rochdale for 18 years. His first love has always been the theatre and he is delighted to be making his debut in a production here in Prescot.
Janice Fryett as Lynda
Janice trained as an actor in her late fifties after decades of teaching, writing, singing and child-rearing. She has since appeared in many Fringe Theatre productions in the Northwest and an off-West-End musical. All of her work has been in bringing new writing to life and this, Terminal 2, is her fourth collaboration with David Payne. Janice has appeared in Emmerdale, several TV commercials and short films and she was featured in the BBC Eurovision trailer 2023 running down the street pushing a shopping trolley and shouting about cheese! Janice can be heard in her own radio sitcom, Florrie & Dotty (championed by Made in Manchester) wherever you get your podcasts. She has featured in The Archers and presented a Witness History programme on the BBC World Service.
Writer – David Payne
LGBTQ+ writer David Payne was one of the winners of the ITV1 sketch show Shoot The Writers. As core writer of the award winning Laughlines Comedy Entertainment, he wrote stage parody tributes to classic sitcoms including Blackadder, Only Fools and Horses and The Vicar of Dibley before landing storyline opportunities with Hollyoaks online and EastEnders. He was twice a finalist in Playwright at The Little Theatre and has had work showcased at The Hope Mill, Manchester and The Curve Theatre, Leicester.
He has written short films and has two stage musicals currently in development. He has recently been commissioned to write his third play for Just Some Theatre following tours of his twisted comedy thrillers, The Killer Question and The Plot Thickens. He was part of the Birmingham Hippodrome New Musical Theatre Writer’s Group and wrote an episode of the urban drama Seaview in association with the Coventry Belgrade. He also contributed to sketches for the CBBC comedy Class Dismissed and is a Producer and Director on BBC Radio 4’s The Archers.
