Treasure Island

Celebrating 30 years of touring theatre in 2025, Off the Ground Theatre are making their debut at Shakespeare North with the quintessential pirate tale, Treasure Island!

For Jim Hawkins, pirates were just the stuff of exciting stories, until Billy Bones the sinister stranger arrives with his sea chest and terrible deeds, triggering a chain of events that take young Jim Hawkins on an epic journey across the seven seas, from the Admiral Benbow Inn in Bristol to the mystical Treasure Island itself, all in search of Captain Flint’s mysterious treasure.

With skullduggery and treachery abound, can the famous pirate Long John Silver be trusted? Will he try to take the treasure for himself?

Head to the high seas with OTG in this original adaptation of the swashbuckling classic story. With swash and buckle in spades, plenty of adventure and a hearty helping of laughs, this one has something for the whole family.

Off the Ground Theatre are a Wirral-based theatre company who have been taking outdoor touring productions around the UK, Wales and Ireland for 30 years. They are a company dedicated to showcasing emerging talent, always promoting graduates from their own youth theatre and other young person’s programmes around the northwest.
