Artist Development Opportunity: Paperwork Theatre Teacup Commission

Paperwork Theatre's Teacup commission is a microfund for creatives, to help get early stage ideas off the ground.

All that Paperwork Theatre asks is that you donate the price of a cuppa, and every time the fund reaches £200, local theatre makers can pitch to win it for their project. It can be used towards paying yourself or a collaborator, buying a bit of kit, or hiring a space. As long as the project is considered ‘theatre’, it’s totally up to you.

For Round 9, we’re super excited to give match funding to raise the total to £400.

To be eligible
  • You are based in the North-West
  • You’re a theatre maker; you might be an actor, designer, director, working as a freelancer, part of a company or collective. (community and student projects are not applicable)
  • You are developing a new idea for theatre; this could be across any art form, from playwriting to puppetry, street theatre to solo shows.
  • You have not been in receipt of a Teacup commission within the last 12 months.
How to apply

Fill in the short form and upload a 1 minute pitch of you talking about your project by 5pm Friday 5th December.

Successful applicants will be invited to pitch at our live event on 16th December at Shakespeare North Playhouse, alongside an artist network festive social.
