Fri 26 Jul, 2024
Shakespeare North Playhouse is excited to be part of Knowsley’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme running during the Summer School Holidays.
Coordinated by One Knowsley in collaboration with Knowsley Council, and funded by the Department for Education, HAF is designed to offer children and young people, who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals (FSM), a variety of enriching activities that encompass creativity, physical activity, and learning, ensuring that every participant has the chance to eat, move, learn, create, and connect.
Here’s a detailed look at the activities Shakespeare North Playhouse has lined up for this summer’s HAF programme:
30th July: Design a Show from Scratch!
A Theatre Design workshop exploring the process of concept to creation, creating mini-model boxes of the Cockpit Theatre.
31st July: Puppetry
A creative and interactive session using shadow to create characters and stories, bringing puppets to life.
1st August: Music Theatre Session
For those who love musicals, this session offers a chance to step into the spotlight. Participants will get to sing, act, and dance, bringing a story to life on stage.
6th August: DJ with Tommy P-Nutz
DJ Tommy P-Nutz will take participants on a journey into the world of DJing: Mixing tracks and bringing the party to Shakespeare North Playhouse!
7th & 8th August: Make a Show from Scratch
A two-day course exploring the art of devising and building a show. Participants will tap into their acting, directing, and technical skills to create a production from scratch.
9th August: Theatre Detectives
A mystery unfolds at the Shakespeare North Playhouse! Young detectives are needed to solve a crime involving characters from Shakespeare’s tales.
13th August: Build a World
In this imaginative workshop, participants will create and bring to life a new world and its characters. It’s a chance to explore beyond the ordinary, using creativity to influence stories and build intricate, fantastical worlds.
