Witchcraft on Trial

Make your evening complete with Witchcraft on Trial, a special bolt-on building tour that will take place following the performance.

This unique tour explores Shakespeare’s themes and language surrounding magic and the supernatural and are a perfect lens through which we can inspect the changing attitudes towards witchcraft.

Delving into the harsh historical realities of early 17th-century England, the tour includes a focused presentation on the Pendle witch trials, their significant links to Prescot and Merseyside, and the cruel cross-examination of the child at the centre of the hysteria – Jennet Device.

Witchcraft on Trial makes the perfect additional accompaniment to an evening of theatre.
