School Booking FormWe love welcoming groups to Shakespeare North Playhouse - schools, special occasions or work outings - and offer great discounts for groups of 10 or more people.
Look through the sections below to see how we can make your next school or group visit as memorable as possible. Don’t forget to fill in the form if you’d like to make a school booking. All school visits to theatre shows, activities and visits to Shakespeare North Playhouse must be booked in advance.

For performances in the Cockpit Theatre tickets are priced at £15 per person with one free for every 10 purchased.
For performances in the Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden or the Studio tickets are priced at the standard child and adult rate relative to each performance.
School group size is only limited by the number of seats available in the specific performance areas.
Reservations– all group reservations must be made at least 6 weeks before the show date.

The payment deadline for reservations is 4 weeks before the booked performance. If this falls in school holidays an alternative deadline will be discussed and agreed.
Payment arrangements include credit card or invoice.

School Booking FormOur exciting workshops support cross-curricular teaching and focus on creativity, encouraging young people to develop their confidence, resilience, literacy and analytical skills in a fun, supportive and inspiring way.
Each workshop can be delivered as a 2-hour session or a more in-depth full day workshop and is adaptable for all ages and abilities. We accommodate groups of up to 35. Schools who book a full day workshop will be able to use the Learning Centre for lunch. Pre-booking is essential and all materials are included in the cost.
Available Tuesday-Friday from 10am-6pm
2-hour workshop – £150 (£120 for Partner Schools)
Full day workshop – £550 (£440 for Partner Schools)
Our full day workshops support the development of metacognition and encourage participants to work both independently and collaboratively in creating their own Scratch Book, exploring and interpreting a text or topic.
The below sessions can be delivered as a 2-hour or full day workshop.
Please note: unless you have booked a ‘Careers’ or ‘Heritage’ workshop or have organised a bespoke workshop booking with our team, your visit will not include a tour of the theatre. Requests for a tour of the theatre on the day of your visit unfortunately cannot be accommodated.
Exploring self-image, identity and healthy relationships through Shakespeare.
Suggested study links: Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, King Lear, Macbeth, PSHE and Citizenship, Psychology, Sociology.
A tour of Shakespeare North Playhouse, including backstage areas and our Cockpit Theatre, followed by a session in the Learning Centre exploring creative industry career pathways.
Groups are invited to bring their sketchbooks to the theatre and explore the architecture through a variety of drawing activities, culminating in an artwork to take back to school.

Following a guided tour of our special exhibition, explore the creation of the First Folio in a fun workshop mono-printing portraits and designing name initials for a Book of You!
Exploring the parallels between Hip Hop and Shakespeare to encourage creative expression.
Please note: This workshop is available as a full-day workshop only.

Exploring fundamental values and citizenship through Shakespeare.

A tour of our amazing theatre, learning all about the links to Shakespeare, famous figures and the heritage of Prescot, followed by a practical session in the Learning Centre creating Elizabethan blackwork style portraits inspired by our beautiful embroidery banner.

Exploring Shakespeare’s silliest characters and the wacky world of jesters with fun drama and dance games and creative activities.
Exploring nature, symbolism and storytelling in imaginative ways.

Exploring the ghostly and gothic, sinister and supernatural elements of Shakespeare and creating creepy stories.

Groups of 10+ receive 10% off ticket prices for performances in the Cockpit Theatre, Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden and the Studio.
Groups of any size can book online for performances in the Cockpit Theatre, Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden and the Studio. When you place 10 or more tickets to the same show in your basket the group discount will automatically apply. The discount only applies to Adult tickets.
Reservations– if you are organising a large group visit, we can accommodate reservations on a case by case basis. All group reservations must be paid in full within 6 weeks of the reservation date.
Group reservations cannot be made within 6 weeks of the performance you are planning to attend. Any group bookings within this time must be paid in full at the point of booking.
