We love welcoming groups to Shakespeare North Playhouse - schools, special occasions or work outings - and offer great discounts for groups of 10 or more people.
Schools
Inspire learning outside of the classroom
All school visits to theatre shows, activities and visits to Shakespeare North Playhouse must be booked in advance.
Tickets
For performances in the Cockpit Theatre tickets are priced at £12 per person with one free for every 10 purchased.
For performances in the Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden or the Studio tickets are priced at the standard child and adult rate relative to each performance.
School group size is only limited by the number of seats available in the specific performance areas.

Payment
The payment deadline for reservations is 8 weeks before the booked performance. If this falls in school holidays an alternative deadline will be discussed and agreed.
Payment arrangements include credit card or invoice.
Groups
Ticket Offers
Groups of 10+ receive 15% off ticket prices for performances in the Cockpit Theatre, Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden and the Studio.
How to book a group visit
Groups of any size can book online for performances in the Cockpit Theatre, Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden and the Studio. When you place 10 or more tickets to the same show in your basket the group discount will automatically apply. The discount only applies to Adult tickets.
Reservations– if you are organising a large group visit, we can accommodate reservations on a case by case basis. All group reservations must be paid in full within 6 weeks of the reservation date.
Group reservations cannot be made within 6 weeks of the performance you are planning to attend. Any group bookings within this time must be paid in full at the point of booking.
Workshops
Workshop Sessions are available from September for groups of up to 35.
Each session below can be delivered as a 2-hour session or a more in-depth full day workshop and is adaptable for all ages and abilities.
Groups who book a full day workshop will be able to use the learning space for lunch.
All materials are included in the cost.

Scratch BooksOur full day workshop sessions involve the creation of scratch books to illustrate the creative process, allowing participants the time and space to reflect on a topic or text, make their own interpretations and discuss these with their peers. This process supports the development of metacognition and encourages participants to work both independently and collaboratively.

“To thine own self be true” (Hamlet, Act 1, Scene 3)Using Shakespeare to explore self-image and identity, students will discuss characters from Shakespeare’s work and how their experiences relate to present day.

“Hearts of Gold” (Henry V, Act 4, Scene 1)Exploring British Values and citizenship through Shakespeare (mutual respect, tolerance, individual liberty, democracy, rule of law).

Shakespeare: Environmental ActivistExploring nature, symbolism and storytelling in imaginative ways.

Drawing workshopGroups are invited to bring their sketchbooks to the theatre and explore the architecture through a variety of drawing activities, culminating in an artwork to take back to school.

Heritage workshopA tour of our amazing theatre, learning all about the links to Shakespeare, famous figures and the heritage of Prescot, followed by a practical session in the Learning Centre creating Elizabethan blackwork style portraits inspired by our beautiful embroidery banner.

Finding your VoiceA 2-hour workshop focusing on building confidence, developing self-expression and performing aloud to an audience.

Careers WorkshopA tour of Shakespeare North Playhouse, including backstage areas and our cockpit theatre, followed by a session in the Learning Centre exploring creative industry career pathways.
