Liverpool and Manchester have long been heralded as massively significant music cities with artists and bands achieving huge international reach and influence – from the Beatles to Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Oasis to Take That.  But who are the new artists coming out of our cities and what are both Mayors doing to support and reimagine the role music plays in a city region supporting talent and creating the pathways for the next generation of global superstars?

Tonight, we will hear from Steve Rotheram, Mayor of Liverpool City Region, and Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, as they share their plans, we discover their new musical obsessions and hear some of the freshest music and songs from live acts chosen by the mayors themselves.
