We support people to stay connected, speak up for themselves, and take part in the arts as part of community life.

Creative Futures (Weekly)
Funded by John Lewis Partnership Foundation Building Happier Futures Fund
Delivered in Partnership with Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council
A weekly session for 13-17 year olds who have experience of being in-care / looked-after across Knowsley to be creative, meet new people and explore topics that matter through conversations, interactive exercises and games.

Raise Your Voice
An exciting opportunity for young people in year groups 7,8,9 and10 to get involved in weekly/monthly sessions, using creativity to amplify their voices.
Join us every Tuesday from 4-6pm for fun and engaging sessions where you’ll work with the team at Shakespeare North to unlock your creative potential, developing new skills, building friendships and producing meaningful projects, with young people’s voices at the heart!
Using lively discussions and hands-on activities, we’ll explore how the arts can be a catalyst for change in your community. Through collaboration with professional artists, and support from local partners we will work as a team to bring ideas to life.
Previous projects include: Murals, Films, Animations and Podcasts.

Young Company – Juniors and Seniors

The Young Company is a brand new opportunity for young people aged 7 to 16 to get involved in theatre. Whether you’re already performing or just curious to give it a go, this is your space to create, connect and express yourself.
Led by our expert Learning and Engagement team, each weekly session is packed with energy, imagination and collaboration. You’ll explore acting, devising, script work and improvisation while developing your voice as a performer and as a person.
Two groups, one shared adventure

Care-leavers up to 25 years old from across the borough are invited to our monthly drop-in sessions for some creative conversations, cultural experiences and exploring what you want for your next steps.
Each week we’ll do creative discovery they go and experience a live-show!

Adult Acting Classes

A 9-week series for anyone interested in developing their acting skills. Whether you’ve dipped your toe into performing or you’re a complete beginner, join us for an exciting dive into performing with expert Margaret Connell. Each week you’ll work with your class to explore principals of acting, collaborating as creatives and refining your talents. Shared Reading
Join our weekly reading group and explore extracts from stories, plays and poetry right here at Shakespeare North Playhouse.
Each week we gather in the First Floor Foyer to read together, reflect and feel inspired by works both new and old. Whether you’re a lifelong reader or you’ve never picked up a book, this group is for you. Grab a brew, settle in and let brilliant words wash over you — there’s no pressure to read aloud, just come and be part of it.
