Give Big, Think Bigger: Christmas Challenge

Wed 27 Nov, 2024

Unlocking Potential Through the Power of the Arts: This festive season, Shakespeare North Playhouse is shining a light on their remarkable outreach programme creating opportunities for young people in Knowsley.

Through our Children and Young People’s Outreach Programme, we’ve already reached over 21,000 children since opening in July 2022. But there’s much more to do—and this year, the Big Give Christmas Challenge gives us a chance to make an even bigger difference.

The Arts as a Catalyst for Change

At Shakespeare North Playhouse, we believe that creativity unlocks potential. For young people, engaging with the arts builds confidence, sparks curiosity, and introduces new skills and opportunities. Our outreach programme is designed to do exactly that—whether it’s through subsidised tickets for school groups, creative workshops that nurture self-expression, or pathways into the creative industries that broaden horizons.

We don’t just deliver activities; we listen to young people and work with them to design experiences that matter. From after-school clubs to half-term projects, the programme is about more than learning new skills—it’s about showing what’s possible.

Why We Need Your Support

This year, we’re joining the Big Give Christmas Challenge for the first time, championed by The Reed Foundation, aiming to raise £3,600 to support our outreach work. Every pound donated between 3rd and 10th December will be matched, meaning your support goes twice as far. For example, a £30 donation could grow to £67.50 with Gift Aid, helping us provide more opportunities for young people to get involved.

Matched funding means we can continue to make theatre accessible to school groups, hire skilled leaders for workshops, and keep sessions affordable for families. Your donations directly fund these vital activities, ensuring that more young people in Knowsley can discover their creativity and build a sense of confidence and achievement.

Creating Lasting Impact

We see every day how access to the arts transforms young people’s perspectives. Whether it’s the excitement of seeing their first performance or the pride in completing a creative project, these experiences make a difference. They open doors to new ideas and show young people that their voices matter.

By supporting us during Big Give Week, you’ll help us sustain and expand this work. Together, we can continue to create spaces where young people feel encouraged to try something new, explore their potential, and imagine a future filled with possibility.

Join Us to Make a Difference

Between 3rd and 10th December, your donation will go further than ever before. Every pound you give is an investment in young people’s futures—providing access, opportunity, and inspiration through the arts.

Together, we can create a future where every young person has the chance to dream big and succeed.
