The CPD drama session offered a range of practical, low‑stakes approaches that made introducing pupils to Shakespeare feel genuinely accessible and fun. The games and drama‑based strategies were brilliant for breaking down barriers, especially for less confident pupils, as each activity offered multiple layers of challenge to stretch everyone at their own pace. What stood out most was the expertise of the trainers from Shakespeare North, who demonstrated how drama can be used not only to boost engagement but also to deepen understanding of Shakespeare’s themes and language in meaningful, memorable ways.
