Theatre should be for everyone, and nobody should have to break the bank to experience the joy of performance.
Here at Shakespeare North, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the magic of live performances and events, without cost becoming a barrier.
That’s why we offer Pay What You Decide (PWYD) tickets, which let you choose the price that works best for you from a range of options.
There are a limited number of PWYD tickets available for each event, sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Each price option (ranging from £5 to £30 per ticket) also has a limited number of tickets. Once a particular price option has sold out, you won’t be able to purchase tickets at that price, and the list of amounts you can decide between may change.
To make theatre accessible for everyone, PWYD tickets are released in stages throughout the booking period, rather than all at once. This means you can buy tickets at a time that works best for you, no matter when your pay day falls.
If you are a charity, care organisation, school or community group supporting children or adults who might benefit from PWYD tickets, please get in touch directly to discuss allocations for the people you support.
If you’d like to support this scheme, please consider donating an amount of your choosing as part of our Pay It Forward campaign, to help us to continue providing PWYD tickets.
Or, pay more if you can when deciding on the price of your PWYD ticket.

Pay What You Decide tickets are identifiable on the Cockpit Theatre seating plan as green. For performances in the Studio or the Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden they can be selected from a drop down menu. As you move through the booking process you will be able to select the price you wish to pay.
