How to BookShakespeare North Playhouse will host a selection of Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) sessions as part of One Knowsley’s HAF programme this December and January.
The HAF programme is a national programme that provides healthy food and enriching holiday activities for children and young people eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
HAF is delivered by One Knowsley. One Knowsley coordinates Knowsley’s HAF on behalf of Knowsley Council, thanks to funding from Department for Education. The programme offers a varied array of enriching, fun and educational activities, with a free nutritious meal included as part of every session.
There will be 3 HAF sessions running at Shakespeare North Playhouse for children aged 11-16.
In addition to providing children and young people who are eligible for free school meals with complimentary nutritious meals these young people will also have free access to a variety of high-quality enriching activities, camps, and experiences in neighbourhoods throughout Knowsley.
Morven Currie, Project Producer for Learning and Engagement at Shakespeare North Playhouse said, “HAF delivery is an incredible opportunity to welcome young people into Shakespeare North Playhouse, at its core the theatre is a space for the community to explore and learn through creativity and that’s exactly what we aim to do. We have a fantastic line-up of creatively led activities delivered by our Learning and Engagement Team as well as Creative practitioners. Our HAF programme aims to provide fun, engaging activities throughout the school holidays as well as opportunities to gain new creative skills, and develop a richer understanding of personal wellbeing, nutrition and food preparation.”
