"All women joke about is periods and bras!"
Well, at Shakespeare North, we love a Period BRAma!
Get ready for a glorious night of standup comedy in our studio that’s here to prove one undeniable truth: women are in fact hilarious.
Featuring a stellar lineup of the funniest female and non-binary comedians from across the North West and beyond.
Headliner: Hayley Ellis
Northerner Hayley Ellis is not only a solid act but also a great MC and has provided tour support for Sarah Millican, John Bishop and Jason Manford. Her comedy is sharp, clever and very funny, and her warmth, quick wit and ability to ad lib means she is one of the fastest rising women in comedy. Her wealth of material has also led her to contributing to Russell Howard’s Good News, Radio 4 Newsjack, Absolute radio and XFM’s breakfast show to name a few.
Compere: Gill Gee
Gill Gee, a stand-up comedian based in the North West, brings a unique blend of humor to the stage. She is a retired therapist navigating the challenges of menopause and a midlife crisis, Gill fearlessly explores the ups and downs of life, offering audiences a refreshingly candid perspective. Wholesomely horrible at times, yet undeniably smutty and unfiltered, her comedy resonates with authenticity. As a single mother to adult sons, Gill’s experiences fuel her comedic material, resulting in performances that are both relatable and bizarre.
Steph Bradshaw
Steph Bradshaw is a Cumbrian comedian, who took her first show to the Edinburgh Fringe last year, which she performed to sell-out audiences. As seen and heard on Only Fans Creative Fund: Comedy Edition 2023, BBC Cumbria, BBC Radio 5 Live and The Miraculous Cumbria Podcast.
Reviews of Steph Bradshaw:
“Steph has funny bones and her tales of trying to make big it in a small town were relatable and hilarious.”
“Well written and very funny. A lot of acts could learn from watching her. Extremely up-lifting.”
