Development and Fundraising Committee Adviser

Shakespeare North Playhouse is looking to appoint committee members to the Development and Fundraising Committee.

This committee has delegated responsibility on behalf of the Board of Trustees for ensuring that revenue fundraising strategies for Shakespeare North Trust are created, implemented and monitored.  

There are currently five committee members who work closely with the Director of Marketing & Commercial and the Head of Fundraising to contribute to fundraising plans, advise on and actively contribute to strategies and ensure reporting to the Board of Trustees. The committee provides guidance and assistance as well as identifying new funding opportunities. 

Committee members are expected to attend four committee meetings annually and represent Shakespeare North Playhouse where appropriate at events which give opportunities for profile raising, fundraising, partnership and resource development as well as assisting in searching out potential new investors. This is a voluntary position but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. 

We are now looking to appoint another member with the following skills: 

  • Experience of hands on and strategic fundraising across all areas including; individual giving, corporate support and Trusts and Foundations.  
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current Fundraising climate across the charity sector, in particular in the Arts.  
  • Knowledge and understanding of the North West’s business community. 
  • Experience of working at a senior level in Culture.
